ANZOVIN ONION SKINNER - FAQ
What versions of Maya does Anzovin Onion Skinner work with?
Anzovin Onion Skinner works with Maya 2011 and newer versions on Windows, Mac, and Linux machines.
What specs are required to use Anzovin Onion Skinner?
Anzovin Onion Skinner uses the Maya hardware renderer for generating its frames. Therefore, your computer must meet the requirements for the hardware renderer in order to be compatible with Anzovin Onion Skinner.
For more information about compatible hardware, see Autodesk's site on the issue:
However, in our experience, there is a lot more hardware that's compatible with Maya than listed on Autodesk's site, and which operating system you're running affects compatibility too. Whether or not a particular graphics card / operating system combination is supported is difficult to figure out. One way to test it is to try rendering a frame in Maya using the hardware renderer to see if it works.
When using Anzovin Onion Skinner, I get this error: 'Graphics card capabilities are insufficient for rendering'?
Maya thinks your graphics card isn't compatible with the hardware renderer. This may not actually be true. Updating your graphics driver to the latest available version, or using an alternative graphics driver if one is available might fix this issue.
However, it is possible that your combination of graphics hardware and operating system is simply incompatible with Maya's hardware renderer, in which case Anzovin Onion Skinner will not work on your computer.
Will Anzovin Onion Skinner work with a character that has Mental Ray materials applied?
Unfortunately, no. Maya's hardware renderer does not render any object with a Mental Ray material on it.
Mental Ray materials can be on other objects in the scene, just not on the character you are using AOS to assist with animation.
