Who We Are
Anzovin Studio was founded in 1999 by the father-and-son team of Steve and Raf Anzovin to create CG character animation. We now offer a full range of animation services from design and development to custom rigging automation to complex motion choreography and rendering.
Our studio is located in the Five College area, the high-tech and cultural center of the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts, midway between New York and Boston.
What We Do
We do it all: vivid game cinematics, kids’ specials on PBS, made-for-TV action flicks, commercials for TV and cellphones. If a project needs lively and expressive character animation or eye-catching imagery, we can provide it.
Some of the high-profile projects we’ve worked on include the game cinematics for Mercenaries 2, Halo 2, and Sid Meier’s Railroads and the made-for-TV movies Faith of Our Fathers and GI Joe: Valor vs Venom.
We like to think of ourselves as ninja animators a small, tight, dedicated team of experts who get the job done, smoothly and on time, but with maximum impact and maximum style. To see what we mean, check out our portfolio.
We also design and produce Maya plug-ins that make life easier for ourselves and our fellow animators. Our first one, The Setup Machine, automatically rigs bipeds and quadrupeds, which cuts down on production time while giving animators superb control over their characters. It has sold thousands of units to animators who now find it indispensable. Our second, The Face Machine (released in March 2008), does the same thing for faces.
Leadership
Company president Raf Anzovin started drawing when he was 3 and animating when he was 8 and has never looked back. You’ll find him on the animation credits of Blue Sky’s Robots. He was also supervising animator for Hasbro’s G.I.Joe Valor vs. Venom and Action Man: X Missions.
Steve Anzovin was president of the studio from its founding in 1999 until his untimely death in 2005. Though his talent, wisdom, and wit are sorely missed, he’s still our guiding light. Thanks, Steve!
